Epic Games has settled its antitrust case against Samsung, according to a court filing. The lawsuit accused Samsung of working with Google to block rival app stores by default on Samsung phones.
In a statement, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said the company is “grateful” that Samsung will address Epic’s concerns. A settlement was reached after parties’ discussions.
The case followed Epic’s launch of its own mobile app store in 2023, which distributes both its own games and third-party titles. The dispute centered around Samsung’s “Auto Blocker” feature, which blocked downloads outside of the Google Play Store and Samsung Galaxy Store.
In a previous statement, Google called the lawsuit “meritless,” saying Android device makers can take their own steps to keep users safe and secure.
