A US District Court judge has been asked by Epic Games to order Apple to review and approve its Fortnite game for distribution on the US App Store. The company claims that Apple is in contempt of a previous court order restricting app rejection over outside payment links. In April, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers restricted Apple from rejecting apps with such links. Epic accuses Apple of delaying action on its submission after a request was made to pause proceedings pending a partial stay of the new injunction. Apple maintains that it has not taken any action on Fortnite’s submission and will only consider approval if the game complies with its guidelines. The dispute centers around an update to Fortnite, which included content from the European Union version, sparking claims that Apple is trying to limit Epic’s release in multiple regions by refusing to approve its US version without the EU content.
