Actor Eric Dane has spoken out about his recent reconciliation with wife Rebecca Gayheart, just months after announcing his ALS diagnosis. In a June 16 interview with Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer, Dane shared that he and Gayheart have become better friends and parents since their divorce filing in 2018 was dismissed.
The couple met in 2003 and tied the knot less than a year later, with two daughters born in 2010 and 2011. After 14 years together, they decided to end their marriage citing “irreconcilable differences.” However, it seems they have since reconciled and are co-parenting amicably.
Dane revealed that he leans on Gayheart as his biggest supporter and talks to her every day for support. He also stated that she is his most stalwart champion in this new chapter of their lives. Their daughters remain the top priority for both parents, with Dane previously stating they will continue to co-parent together despite their separation.
Just one month after their reconciliation, Dane announced he had been diagnosed with ALS, prompting a request from Gayheart to dismiss her divorce filing. Despite this health challenge, Dane remains optimistic and thanks his family for being by his side during this time.
