Former ESPN host Molly Qerim is leaving her show “First Take” at the end of the year, sources confirm. After 15 years with the network, starting in 2006, Qerim chose not to renew her contract. The news comes after SBJ named “First Take” one of the best current sports studio shows last year.
Qerim announced her departure on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share her desk with talented colleagues and fans. ESPN President Burke Magnus praised Qerim’s contributions to the show, saying she elevated its success through her professionalism and kind team spirit.
Qerim’s exit marks a significant change for “First Take,” which has been a staple of ESPN’s programming since 2015. The network’s future plans are unclear, but fans will miss seeing Qerim behind the desk every morning.
