European Union finance ministers have expressed positive views on a joint defence fund proposal aimed at easing concerns over debt. The Bruegel think tank has suggested an intergovernmental fund for military equipment, while Spain has proposed a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for joint European debt. The move follows efforts to strengthen the EU’s defense capabilities and address growing debt concerns amid rising tensions in Eastern Europe.
