EU Urges Air Defence Systems for Ukraine Amid Russian Attacks

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and Defence Minister Boris Pistorius have urged European partners to consider transferring air defence systems to Ukraine, citing intensified Russian air attacks. The ministers emphasized the need for additional protection for Ukraine at all frequencies and altitudes, stating that Germany will use all available means to support the country. This move comes after German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius signed an agreement with Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umierov in May, pledging €5 billion in funding for long-range weapons.
