US travel numbers have declined among Western Europeans in response to tensions surrounding former US President Donald Trump’s policies. According to the National Tour Organization (NTTO), US visitor numbers from Western Europe fell by 1% in February compared to the previous year.
Flight search data also shows a decline in interest, with decreased searches for flights to the US reported in France, Italy, and Spain. However, some companies remain optimistic about US tourism. TUI, a major European travel company, predicts that more Germans will visit the US this year than last, despite Trump’s presidency.
The recent change in travel patterns is a response to Trump’s policies, which have been met with opposition from many Europeans. As a result, US travel numbers are expected to continue declining until new leadership takes office.
