Eva Longoria’s foundation is donating $1 million to support those affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles. The funds will be distributed between the Latino Community Foundation and the California Community Foundation, focusing on both immediate aid and long-term recovery for those impacted by the Palisades and Eaton fires.
Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate their homes due to the blazes, which have claimed 24 lives so far. Longoria’s $1 million donation comes from the $50 million Bezos Courage and Civility Award she received in March. As part of her award, Longoria has 10 years to use the funds for a worthy charitable cause.
In addition to the foundation donation, Longoria has also promised to match $50,000 for This Is About Humanity’s efforts to support frontline workers, farm workers, day laborers, and families affected by the wildfires. She will also be volunteering with Global Empowerment Mission to distribute fire relief supplies.
