Eva Longoria Foundation Pledges $1 Million to California Wildfire Relief

The Eva Longoria Foundation has pledged $1 million to support California wildfire relief efforts, with the funds split between two existing organizations: Castro’s Latino Community Foundation and the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund. The donation will benefit front-line, grassroots groups working in affected communities.

Three wildfires are currently burning in Los Angeles County, including the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires, which have resulted in 24 deaths and over 38,000 acres burned. More than 3,100 structures have been destroyed, mostly in the Palisades and Altadena areas where the Eaton fire started.

The pledge follows a $50 million grant given by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to Longoria in March 2024 as part of his Courage and Civility Award. Longoria will discuss her donation further on NBC’s Jenna & Friends before returning to Los Angeles to volunteer with Global Empowerment Mission and visit World Central Kitchen’s Eaton Fire operations.
