The highly anticipated Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool has been postponed due to severe weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh. The Premier League match, scheduled for Saturday, was cancelled at the last minute after a Safety Advisory Group meeting deemed it unsafe for fans, staff, and players due to strong winds and heavy rain.
A statement from Everton announced the postponement, citing “adverse weather conditions” as the reason. The City of Liverpool is currently under an amber severe wind warning until early on Sunday.
The game will now be rescheduled at a later date this season. Originally purchased tickets for the fixture remain valid for the rearranged match.
