Ex-FTX Executive Ryan Salame’s Prison Release Date Moved Up by Over a Year

Ryan Salame, a former top executive at FTX, reported to federal prison in October 2022 to start serving a 7½-year sentence for his role in the crypto fraud scheme. Federal records show that Salame was initially scheduled to be released in March 2031.

However, according to Bureau of Prisons records viewed by Business Insider, it appears that Salame’s release date has been moved up by more than a year. His new release date is now set for March 2031 – just over a year before the initial 7½-year sentence.

Salame’s attorneys have not commented on the matter. The Bureau of Prisons stated that incarcerated individuals can earn time off their sentence for good behavior under the First Step Act, but did not provide further details.

Salame has been keeping busy while in prison. He recently shared updates on LinkedIn about his experience at FCI Cumberland, where he works as an inmate and teaches cryptocurrency courses to fellow campers.
