Ex-WWE Executive to Aid Accuser in Vince McMahon Sex Abuse Lawsuit

A former WWE executive, John Laurinaitis, has agreed to a confidential settlement and will now help the accuser, Janel Grant, as she continues suing the company and former leader Vince McMahon.

Grant alleges that McMahon coerced her into sex acts with him, Laurinaitis, and others, and claims he sexually assaulted her. The lawsuit also includes graphic details of their encounters and alleged photos of sexual texts sent by McMahon.

In a joint statement, representatives for Grant and Laurinaitis said the settlement is a “pivotal next step” towards holding McMahon and WWE accountable. However, allegations against the company remain.

McMahon’s lawyer denied any wrongdoing, stating that the lawsuit’s allegations are “unfounded” and that he never mistreated Grant. The case has sparked controversy since its filing in 2023, with McMahon resigning as CEO and chairman of WWE in 2022 amidst a company investigation into similar allegations.

Grant filed her lawsuit after being pressured into leaving her job at the WWE and signing a $3 million nondisclosure agreement. The settlement announced Wednesday does not change the fact that Grant continues to pursue claims against McMahon and WWE.
