A group of around 50 cryptocurrency traders, many linked to far-right ideologies, attended a private dinner hosted by President Donald Trump last week. According to a government watchdog report, nearly half of the invitees hold crypto assets named after symbols associated with white nationalism and neo-Nazism.
The report, from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), found nine traders’ wallets contained coins with openly antisemitic or racist names. Examples include tokens called “FUCK THE JEWS” and variations on the word “swastika”.
Trump’s administration has faced criticism for its association with neo-Nazis and white nationalists, including recent examples of officials embracing extremist groups. The event was also seen as a display of Trump’s opulent wealth, with attendees spending millions in hopes of attending.
