Extreme Heat Wave Forecasted for 4th of July Weekend

A heat wave expected to last through Independence Day is forecasted to bring triple-digit temperatures and blazing hot conditions across the Central and Eastern US, with danger zones stretching from Montana to Texas. Temperatures well above normal are predicted to hit regions east of the Rocky Mountains by June 27-28, expanding and persisting through July 4. The Rockies and Northwest will see cooler temperatures, while vulnerable populations should take precautions to stay safe during the heat wave.

Due to the extreme heat, experts advise limiting outdoor activity, taking breaks, drinking fluids often, staying hydrated, and having access to air conditioning. Vulnerable populations like the elderly should be checked on regularly. While some areas may experience favorable weather for parades and cookouts, scattered thunderstorms are possible, especially across parts of the Great Lakes and Northeast.

Record-breaking temperatures are expected in regions from the Ohio Valley into the mid-Atlantic and Northeast by July 2, with danger zones projected to expand further through July 5-6. Stay safe and cool this summer by taking necessary precautions and staying informed about the forecast.
