Ezekiel Elliott’s 2024 season may not be over yet. The Los Angeles Chargers plan to sign the veteran running back to their practice squad ahead of their AFC Wild Card matchup against the Houston Texans on Saturday. This move comes after a busy offseason, which saw Elliott return to the Dallas Cowboys and teammate Tony Pollard join the Tennessee Titans.
Elliott has 9,130 yards and 74 rushing touchdowns in nine seasons, earning him two-time rushing leader status. Despite playing for different teams, including the New England Patriots, he remains a force to be reckoned with. The Chargers have used J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards in their backfield this season but could consider adding Elliott if he’s not available.
The Los Angeles Chargers finished 11-6 in their first season under new head coach Jim Harbaugh. This move gives them an extra option for Saturday’s game, which could be a crucial matchup against the Texans. With Elliott potentially joining the team, the Chargers may have a better chance at success in their Wild Card game.
