Fairphone has announced its latest device, the Fairphone 6, which is set to launch on June 25. The phone features a flat frame instead of its predecessor’s rounded design and comes in three color options: Horizon Black, Cloud White, and Forest Green.
The device boasts a sleeker screen bezel and retains its iconic punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Its modular back design consists of two parts with contrasting colors, similar to previous Fairphone models. The phone also includes new interchangeable accessories such as a card holder, lanyard, and ring for easier one-handed use.
Under the hood, the Fairphone 6 will feature a plastic frame, user-replaceable camera sensors, display, speakers, microphones, and charging port. It is expected to have an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant retailing at €549.
The phone’s design has received mixed reactions, with some users expressing disappointment over the lack of a headphone jack and smaller display sizes. However, fans of the Fairphone series seem excited about its modular design and user-replaceable components, which promise to provide more flexibility and customization options.
