Fallout 76 Gets Fishing Feature After Seven Years

After seven years since its launch, Bethesda has finally added a highly requested feature to Fallout 76 – fishing. The game’s latest update is now live on the public test server, allowing players to try out this long-awaited activity in an open-world RPG setting.

In addition to fishing, the recent PTS update also includes changes to the limb system and perks rebalancing. Players will be able to place trophy fish in their C.A.M.P. bases, upgradeable fishing rods, and weather-affected fish types. The new “Casting Off” questline introduces a mysterious signal that guides players to their first fishing rod.

Fishing will be available in any location with swimmable water and is accessible via a Pip-Boy quest. This feature is a significant addition to the game’s redemption story, which has been gradually improved over the past year through updates such as its first map expansion and new ghoul playstyle.

The inclusion of fishing brings closure to one of Fallout 76’s biggest criticisms – its lack of this essential activity. With this update, Bethesda aims to further enhance the game’s experience, ensuring a more engaging experience for veterans and newcomers alike.
