Fallout 76 Introduces Fishing Feature to Public Test Server

Bethesda has begun testing fishing in Fallout 76, a feature that adds a relaxing element to the combat-focused game. Players can now try out fishing in a new area called Fisherman’s Rest in the Mire region. To get started, they’ll need to complete the Casting Off quest and follow the signal on their Pip-Boy.

There are three characters to meet at Fisherman’s Rest: Captain Raymond Clark, The Fisherman, and Linda-Lee, a giant hermit crab. Players can catch various fish, which can be eaten to restore health or turned into fish bits to cook new recipes. Daily fishing quests also offer rewards for completing recipes.

Fishing works by using bait and taking into account weather conditions, but the exact mechanics are not fully explained. The game’s developers aim to iron out bugs in time for a June release on the public test server.
