Fans Vote for New Team Name in Utah Hockey Club Rebranding

The Utah Hockey Club, a rebranded franchise previously known as the Arizona Coyotes, has chosen three names for fans to vote on for their permanent team name. The options include Utah Mammoth, Utah Hockey Club, and Utah Wasatch. However, the “Yeti” name was not included due to trademark issues with the Yeti brand.

After receiving feedback from fans, the team announced that it would be switching the option of Utah Wasatch to Utah Outlaws for the next round of voting. The initial idea behind the Wasatch name was to honor the mythical creature known as the Yeti, which is said to inhabit the Himalayan mountains.

Fans can now vote on their favorite name at home games, with three iPad stations available during each game. When fans cast their votes, they will see logos, jerseys, and branding for that particular choice. The permanent team name will be revealed ahead of the 2025-26 home opener.

The Utah Hockey Club aims to bring a unique approach to its rebranding by incorporating Utah-centric elements into its identity. With the help of fans, the team will finally have a permanent name that represents their values and spirit.
