Fantasy Lineup Start and Sit Advice for Week 16

Week 16 promises to be a crucial one in the fantasy football world, and our experts are here to help you make informed decisions. Here’s who to start and sit this week.

Start ‘Em
Ja’Marr Chase is a top-five fantasy QB, despite being overshadowed by other signal-callers. He averages 27.2 fantasy points per game over the last month and faces a Philadelphia defense that has allowed a top-eight fantasy QB in half of their games.

Baker Mayfield is another top contender, boasting third-most passing touchdowns and fourth-most yards this season. He’s a better runner than he gets credit for, with eight games of more than 20 rushing yards. Mayfield could see another strong performance against the Cowboys, who have allowed the most pass yards since Week 11.

Josh Allen leads Josh Nix in fantasy production, but the rookie has a bounce-back opportunity this week against the Chargers. Los Angeles has allowed the second-most passing yards and is tied for most passing touchdowns allowed. Three of the five QBs to face them have gone off for at least 22 fantasy points.

Sit ‘Em
Jimmy Garoppolo struggles to maintain his fantasy floor, having scored fewer than 17 fantasy points in three straight games. He’s dealing with a high ankle sprain and faces pressure from Houston’s defense, which has allowed a good amount of TDs this season.

Brock Purdy is a highly uncertain pick due to his recent poor performances and limited passing touchdowns. He faces the Dolphins, who have allowed the second-fewest fantasy PPG to QBs. With Josh Allen being the only player to finish as a top-10 fantasy QB against them this season, it’s too risky to trust Purdy.

Joe Burrow is not recommended due to his recent struggles and facing a 49ers defense that has allowed the fewest passing yards in the league. Last week, Cooper Rush threw three TDs on his way to 19 fantasy points against Carolina, making Murray a viable option this week.

Christian Stroud is purely a name in the fantasy world right now, with very little production. The Chiefs are not a matchup to avoid, but there’s no way you should play Stroud with a trip to championship week on the line.
