Taime Downe, lead singer of Faster Pussycat, is mourning the loss of his fiancée Kimberly Burch after she fell to her death from an ’80s-themed Royal Caribbean cruise. The incident occurred on the first day of a 7-day roundtrip voyage that set off from Miami.
According to Kimberly’s mother, Carnell Burch, the couple had a heated argument before the fall. She believes Kimberly wouldn’t intentionally harm herself and was excited about the trip. However, it is unclear whether Kimberly jumped or accidentally fell from the ship.
Royal Caribbean Group has launched a search and rescue effort with local authorities, providing support to Kimberly’s family during this difficult time. The U.S. Coast Guard assisted in the search, deploying a helicopter crew 20 miles away from Freeport, Bahamas.
Kimberly was 56 years old and had been on the cruise with her fiancé Taime Downe and Faster Pussycat, who were performing on the nostalgia-themed trip. Her body remains missing as Kimberly’s family tries to recover it.
