Fasting vs Calorie Counting: Intermittent Fasting Promises Better Weight Loss

A new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine has found that intermittent fasting three days a week can lead to greater weight loss and better health outcomes than daily calorie counting. Researchers compared 4:3 intermittent fasting with traditional daily calorie restriction, and found that participants who followed the fasting regimen lost an average of 7.6% of their body weight over 12 months. This approach required less daily effort and may promote better adherence due to its flexible nature.
