FBI Offers $50,000 Reward for Information in UnitedHealthcare CEO Shooting

The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman who fatally shot Brian Thompson, the CEO of health insurer UnitedHealthcare. The shooting occurred outside the New York Hilton Midtown on Wednesday morning.

Thompson was shot in the back and right calf and rushed to Mount Sinai West, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities found a backpack in Central Park that is believed to be connected to the suspect.

The suspect, described as a light-skinned man wearing a green jacket, black face mask, and gray backpack, is still at large. Police believe he arrived in New York on a bus from Atlanta, but details of his journey are still unclear.

Police found three 9mm rounds with words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose” written on them. The motive behind the attack is still unknown, but investigators think it was premeditated and targeted.

The NYPD has offered a reward of up to $10,000, and police are searching for any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest. New Yorkers have been warned to be alert, and police are using drones and canines to track down the gunman.
