The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has rescinded a cybersecurity regulation aimed at addressing the massive network intrusion known as Salt Typhoon, which affected major telecommunications carriers last year. The rule was introduced by President Joe Biden’s administration to improve cybersecurity measures in the industry. However, the FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, led a party-line vote to repeal the regulation, citing its inefficiency and being rushed out during the Biden presidency.
