The FDA recently banned the common food dye Red 3 (Red dye no.3), prompting concern about its impact on public health. Cleveland Clinic provided insight, explaining that the dye contains a chemical linked to cancer in rats through studies. However, there’s no direct evidence from human studies yet. The organization emphasized that many foods already use this dye, including cereals, snacks, and sugary beverages. “They’re going to be in cereals, snacks and sugar-laden beverages,” said RD Czerwony. “So, ultimately, those are things we would want you to avoid or limit in your diets anyway.”
