The FDA has upgraded its recall of Cal Yee Farms’ chocolate products to the highest risk level due to undeclared milk in certain products. The initial recall in December 2024 included products sold in nine states, but now only a few affected items have been elevated to the most serious Class 1 recall level.
These products include dark chocolate almonds, dark chocolate apricots, and dark chocolate walnuts. A Class 1 recall indicates a “reasonable probability” of serious adverse health consequences or death due to exposure to the violative product. The FDA advises consumers to check their pantries if they purchased these products online.
Recalled Cal Yee’s products were packaged in clear plastic zippered pouches with bright yellow labels and small white UPC codes on the back. Consumers should exercise caution when handling and consuming any potential allergens to prevent allergic reactions or other health issues.
