Ferrari Issues Caution After Impressive Sprint Pole Grab

Ferrari has delivered a performance warning after Lewis Hamilton secured the surprise sprint pole in China. The Italian team’s cautious approach comes despite an impressive display from their driver, who overcame initial struggles to secure top spot.

McLaren had been considered favorites for the sprint pole but ultimately fell short. However, Ferrari’s resurgence shows promise for the 2025 season. Team principal Fred Vasseur expressed caution, stating that it’s too early to make bold predictions despite a significant improvement from their qualifying performance in Australia.

While Hamilton’s pole position was narrow, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen just 0.018 seconds behind, Ferrari’s overall performance remains a concern. The team acknowledges that they have work to do and are still struggling to understand consistency between sessions.

Despite this, Vasseur praised Hamilton for his consistent driving in both sprint qualifying sessions. A strong start from the British driver will be crucial in securing points, but ultimately, Ferrari’s performance throughout the Chinese Grand Prix weekend will determine their true potential.
