Ferrari has unveiled its 2025 Formula 1 car, the SF-25, with major upgrades focused on aerodynamic development. The team’s goal is to improve its performance and potentially challenge for the constructor’s championship. However, Ferrari’s technical director, Loic Serra, has stated that most of the car’s changes are not immediately noticeable.
The SF-25 features a change in front suspension from push-rod to pull-rod, as well as updates to the floor and internal components. According to Serra, these upgrades will give Ferrari more room for improvement in aerodynamic development. The team is already looking ahead to the 2026 rule changes, which are expected to bring significant changes to the sport.
Team principal Fred Vasseur has acknowledged that his team needs to balance its efforts between developing the 2025 car and preparing for the major rule changes next year. Vasseur plans to evaluate the situation after the first four or five races and make decisions on how to distribute resources accordingly. He expects a competitive season, with multiple teams capable of winning races and aiming for the championship.
With Ferrari’s ambitious development approach and McLaren’s own upgrades, the team is set to be in a heated contest for the constructor’s title. The SF-25 represents a significant step forward for Ferrari, but the ultimate goal remains to secure its first constructor’s championship since 2008.
