Fever Fall to Liberty in Thrilling 90-88 Game

The Indiana Fever lost a close game to the New York Liberty on Saturday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The defending WNBA champion Liberty stormed back from a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Fever 90-88.

Jonquel Jones scored 26 points and Sabrina Ionescu added 23, including the game-winning free throws with 2.2 seconds left. The Liberty’s defense played a key role in their victory, holding Indiana to just 64% shooting from the field.

Caitlin Clark led the Fever with 18 points, but also turned the ball over 10 times and struggled early on, going 0-for-5 from three-point range before hitting two late threes. Aliyah Boston added 15 points for the Fever, while Natasha Howard had a solid game with 12 points.

The Liberty were favored to win by 3.5 points, according to BetMGM, but Indiana showed improvement early in the season and made it a competitive game. However, ultimately, the Liberty’s defense proved too much for them to handle.
