FIFA Lowers Club World Cup Ticket Prices Amid Slumping Demand

FIFA has significantly reduced ticket prices for the upcoming Club World Cup semifinals. The standard ticket price for the Chelsea vs Fluminense match at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey was cut to $13.40 from $473.90 earlier this week. FIFA has employed dynamic pricing, which adjusts prices based on demand.

Ticket prices for other matches during the tournament have also decreased, with a quarterfinal between Fluminense and Al Hilal in Orlando, Florida, starting at $11.15. The price drop is partly due to low attendance figures in many matches. Real Madrid, however, has drawn a large crowd for all five of its matches, including 76,611 for its recent win over Borussia Dortmund.

The lower prices are seen as an effort by FIFA to attract more spectators to the tournament, which features some of the world’s top clubs. The dramatic price reduction was first reported by The Athletic and is expected to impact the upcoming match between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid on Wednesday.
