A US federal jury has convicted fintech entrepreneur Charlie Javice of four counts of conspiracy and fraud, with the pair tricking JPMorgan Chase out of $175 million in 2021. The conviction comes after a six-month trial. Prosecutors are now seeking to require Javice to wear an ankle monitor before her sentencing on July 26. However, Javice’s lawyer argues that it would hinder her ability to teach pilates due to the device’s size and weight. This is not the first time Javice has had issues with wearing an ankle bracelet; in 2023, she was granted a modification after claiming it caused her physical pain and made it difficult for her to travel.
