A Southern California-based fitness influencer and gym-chain owner has died after being shot during a robbery three months ago. Miguel Angel Aguilar, the founder and CEO of Self Made Training, passed away on December 21st, surrounded by his loved ones.
Aguilar was shot on September 13th while approaching a man on the 11400 block of North Thurston Circle. The suspects demanded property and fired shots at him before fleeing the scene. Three men have since been charged with murder and robbery in connection with the case.
Aguilar’s Self Made Family Instagram account, which has over 52,000 followers, provided advice on fitness and entrepreneurship. His gym chain, headquartered in Temecula, operated more than two dozen locations across California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, and Texas.
