A new app called Flashes has emerged in beta, offering a Bluesky-based alternative to Instagram with support for multiple images and videos, direct messages, and simultaneous posting on both platforms. Developed by Berlin-based developer Sebastian Vogelsang, Flashes is currently available for iOS download through Apple’s TestFlight platform but faces technical issues that need to be resolved. The app aims to address user concerns fleeing from X/Instagram, mirroring features already introduced by Bluesky itself, including a new feature allowing users to limit replies to followers and custom feeds on its own platforms.
