A flat earther who participated in The Final Experiment (TFE), a project aimed at convincing believers of the Earth being round, has admitted on live camera that he was wrong about the existence of a 24-hour Sun. TFE takes flat earth theory believers and non-believers to Antarctica to showcase the impossibility of a flat Earth, which would require the Sun to set for only 12 hours in the Southern Hemisphere.
Jeran Campanella, a prominent YouTuber who runs the jeranism channel, was part of this expedition. During a live stream from Antarctica, he admitted that his previous belief about the 24-hour Sun being impossible was incorrect. Campanella stated that witnessing the Sun remaining in the sky for 24 hours and observing its motion proved him wrong.
The flat earther theory is based on several key points, including the idea that it’s impossible for the Sun to move in opposite directions at the North and South Poles. However, this concept is explained by a spherical Earth model, which demonstrates that observers at both poles witness the Sun on opposite sides of the same plane.
Campanella acknowledged that his newfound understanding may be seen as contradictory to the flat earth theory. He also stated that he doesn’t have all the answers and left room for others to explore alternative explanations. The experience serves as a significant shift in perspective, demonstrating the power of observation and evidence-based reasoning.
