A United Airlines flight from Springfield, Missouri, to Houston, Texas, was forced to make an emergency landing at Waco Regional Airport on Sunday night due to severe turbulence. The aircraft, operated by SkyWest Airlines as a United Express flight, diverted after experiencing rough air conditions.
Five passengers were injured during the turbulence and taken to the hospital for treatment. The Waco Fire Department and Office of Emergency Management responded to the scene to assist with evacuations.
United Airlines is working on a recovery plan to transport its passengers to their Houston destination. SkyWest Airlines has also provided support, assuring that the injured customers receive necessary medical attention and are being accommodated on alternative flights.
