Floatfest, a 2-mile showcase of Rose Parade floats after their appearance along the parade route, drew visitors to Pasadena on Wednesday. Locals and tourists alike stopped by to marvel at the intricate details and beauty of the flowers used in each float.
“I watched it as a kid growing up, and then when I came as an adult, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! I should have been here for years,'” said Renee Black. The floats, including the award-winning San Diego Zoo float covered in marigolds and the innovative La Canada Flintridge complete, proved to be a hit with attendees.
The beautiful weather in Pasadena played a crucial role in keeping the thousands of roses in bloom. Cool morning temperatures and afternoon sunshine helped preserve the flowers, which will remain on display for Floatfest’s second day on Thursday and Friday.
Visitors can experience the float showcase starting at 9 a.m., with tickets available for $25 adults and free for children under 5.
