Florida Upsets No. 1 Auburn 90-81 on Road

Florida’s men’s basketball team pulled off a major road upset, dominating No. 1 Auburn 90-81 to secure the program’s first-ever road victory over an AP No. 1 team. The Gators led by as many as 21 points in the second half before Auburn mounted a comeback, but ultimately fell short. Walter Clayton Jr. led the charge for Florida with 19 points and nine assists, while Alex Condon added 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Florida’s hot shooting from three-point territory – 13-for-32 from downtown – proved decisive, while Auburn struggled at the free throw line. The Tigers’ loss marks just their second this season and their first in SEC play. For head coach Todd Golden, the win was a full-circle moment, having previously served as an assistant coach under Bruce Pearl.

The Gators improve to 20-3 overall and 7-3 in SEC play, setting up a strong momentum heading into Tuesday’s road game against Mississippi State. Auburn will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season with a matchup against Vanderbilt on Tuesday.
