Ford Recalls 133K SUVs Over Detaching Window Bars

Ford is recalling nearly 133,000 Lincoln Aviator SUVs due to a defect in two parts that can detach while driving. The affected vehicles include the rear door window bars and C-pillar trim, which may not be securely attached with adhesive bonding.

The recall affects approximately 4,250 vehicles, or 3.2% of all eligible models. Owners are advised to bring their cars to a Ford or Lincoln dealership for free repairs or replacements.

Ford expects to send notification letters by July 28 and will follow up with additional notifications once the remedy is available. The company has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to this defect.

Vehicle owners should be aware that the C-pillar trim may start to separate from the vehicle, which could lead to a road hazard. Ford urges drivers to monitor their vehicles closely for signs of this issue.
