A recent investigation by the Webster Police Department has uncovered a crime ring targeting high-end Ford trucks in the greater Harris County region. The suspects, Sergio Giovanni Sanfilippo, Jimmy Dean Miller, and Jaleel D. Fasion, have been arrested and charged with organized criminal activity.
Between September 2024 and January 2025, more than $92,000 worth of taillights were stolen from at least 34 victims. The thieves, who targeted trucks along I-45 from Galveston to Houston, can access the tailgate and remove the taillights in a matter of minutes.
The most commonly targeted trucks were F-350s, which had high-end LED taillights with sensors. Victims reported paying $4,500 to $6,500 to replace the stolen parts. Police Chief Pete Bacon advises Ford owners to consider security options, but warns them to consult with trusted dealers to avoid affecting their warranty.
One suspect, Jaleel D. Fasion, is still in custody, while Sergio Giovanni Sanfilippo has posted bail and is out on bond. Jimmy Dean Miller’s case was discharged due to lack of probable cause, but he remains in custody.
