Former NFL QB Teddy Bridgewater Suspended as High School Coach

Former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been suspended from his coaching position at Miami Northwestern high school while under investigation for providing impermissible benefits to his players. The suspension was confirmed by the school, which stated that Bridgewater could still be employed by another school but is currently not permitted to coach.

Bridgewater, 32, previously led his alma mater to a Class 3A state championship in his first season as coach in 2024. However, he has faced criticism for providing Uber rides, meals, and recovery services to his players last season. The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) is now gathering more information about the incident.

Bridgewater’s NFL career spanned six teams from 2014-24, with a record of 33-32 and notable achievements including the Pro Bowl in 2015 with the Minnesota Vikings.
