Former Princeton Football Star Tiger Bech Passes Away

Princeton University football is mourning the loss of Martin “Tiger” Bech, who died in a violent attack in New Orleans on January 1, 2025. Bech was a standout player during his time at Princeton, leading the team to Ivy League championships in 2016 and 2018.

A former coach described Bech as a “ferocious competitor with endless energy” and praised his growth and success after graduation. Bech earned two All-Ivy honors as a return specialist and recorded significant stats as a wide receiver, including 53 catches for 825 yards and three touchdowns.

The Princeton community is coming together to pay tribute to the late Bech, who was known affectionately by his teammates and coaches as “Tiger.”
