Voting machine company Dominion has been sold to a new company run by former Republican election official Scott Leiendecker. The sale comes amid ongoing conspiracy theories surrounding Dominion’s role in the 2020 presidential election. As part of the deal, voting systems made by Dominion were used in 27 US states during the 2024 election. The price of the sale has not been disclosed.
Leiendecker, who founded a polling equipment company called KNOWiNK in 2011, created Liberty Vote to acquire Dominion. In the past, Leiendecker has worked as an election director for the city of St. Louis and served on the Republican Party ticket. A statement from Liberty Vote calls the purchase “a bold and historic move to transform and improve election integrity in America.” The company’s website now redirects to its new domain.
