Former UFC Champion B.J. Penn Arrested for Alleged Family Abuse

Former UFC champion B.J. Penn was arrested in Hawaii on Sunday on charges of abusing a family or household member. A video posted by Penn to Instagram showed him arguing with police officers before being taken away in handcuffs.

Penn was released from jail on $2,000 bail shortly after midnight on Monday and claimed he had done nothing wrong. “This is my house,” he told the officers, adding that he only went to grab the mail and wanted to speak to someone he knew who could help resolve the situation.

The arrest comes a month after Penn made bizarre claims on Instagram, stating that his family members were murdered and replaced with impostors. He also shared a definition of “impostor theft,” which refers to using fake identities to commit crimes or steal documents.

Penn is set to appear in court on Tuesday to face the charges against him. The latest incident marks another challenge to Penn’s reputation, following his previous outbursts on social media.
