Fortnite Refund Claim Deadline Approaches for $126M Settlement

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is issuing more than $126 million in refunds to Fortnite players who were charged for unwanted in-game purchases. This settlement with Epic Games, the game’s developer, follows allegations of deceptive practices.

In 2023, Epic Games reached a $245 million settlement with the FTC over these claims. The agency has already issued $72 million in refunds and will distribute an additional nearly 1 million payments via check and PayPal between June 25 and 26.

Fortnite players who haven’t submitted a claim yet can still apply for a refund until July 9, 2025. To file a claim, eligible consumers must provide their Epic Account ID and receive a claim number through email if they don’t already have it. The FTC assures that no payment or account information is required to receive a refund.

Recipients are reminded to cash checks within 90 days and redeem PayPal refunds within 30 days. For questions about payments, contact Rust Consulting, Inc., the refund administrator, at 1-833-915-0880 or [email protected].
