Framework Laptop 12: Modular and Repairable Budget Option

Framework’s San Francisco Event Reveals Color Options for Its First Convertible Laptop

Framework’s event in San Francisco revealed its first attempt at budget laptops, the 12-inch convertible notebook. The laptop is modular and repairable, a concept that seems to be Framework’s thing. This new device also marks Framework’s entry into the touchscreen market.

The design was led by Esther Yen, the senior industrial designer of Framework. It appears that the mint and pink color options were intentional choices made by her. When asked about the colors, one of the attendees confirmed that they were indeed the requested colors. The attendee shared more photos of the laptop’s design, which are now available.

The details revealed at the event include a 50Wh battery, faster SSD swaps, and a surprising number of pogo pins. These features will be expected to contribute to the device’s durability and repairability.
