France Hosts European Summit on Ukraine Security Monday

France will host a key European summit on Monday to discuss the ongoing Ukraine war and European security, amid concerns about a lack of unity among European leaders. The meeting, which has not been publicly announced, aims to explore ways Europe can provide concrete support to Ukraine and strengthen its collective security.

According to Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, the summit will be a working session focused on discussing European security. Invitations have been sent to several European countries, including Britain, Germany, Poland, Italy, Denmark, and the European Union leadership, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk set to attend.

The meeting comes amid tensions between Europe and Russia over Ukraine, which has been invaded by Moscow since 2022. The summit aims to explore ways to provide immediate help to Ukraine, offer security guarantees, and strengthen Europe’s collective defense. However, it remains unclear whether concrete decisions will be made at the meeting.
