According to Dave Franco, he planned a surprise proposal in Big Sur, where Alison Brie first put on her silver mask after meeting at Mardi Gras. The proposal involved Franco wearing a Zorro mask and giving Brie an old ring with a “placeholder” rock. Brie initially didn’t get the hint, but eventually said yes when Franco explained that Irene Neuwirth would design her actual ring.
The couple chose a simple ceremony with just their parents and siblings, followed by a party at Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles. However, things took an unexpected turn when one of their friends showed up uninvited with his new girlfriend, forcing the couple to come up with a solution on the spot. They handed out weed pens as a “parting gift” that led to multiple guests bringing home extra pizzas.
Franco and Brie have both recently completed scripts, with Franco working on a thriller and Brie writing a horror comedy script with her friend Alice Stanley Jr. The couple has decided to become producers for each other’s projects, ensuring they don’t burn out on their collaboration.
