Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek Reunite for Malcolm in the Middle Revival

The cast of Malcolm in the Middle has reunited to film a revival of the classic sitcom. Frankie Muniz, who played Malcolm, is once again teaming up with his parents, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek, who portrayed Hal and Lois. The show’s 25th anniversary comes as the new series is being filmed.

Muniz captioned a recent Instagram photo with his parents, saying “Always good to have Mom and Dad around.” The original cast members Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield will reprise their roles as Malcolm’s older brothers Francis and Reese. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark has taken over the role of Dewey, the younger brother originally played by Erik Per Sullivan.

The revival sees Muniz playing Malcolm once again, this time with his daughter Keeley Karsten by his side. Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party, drawing him into the chaos of their family. Linwood Boomer, the creator of the show, is set to return as writer and executive producer.

The revival features a star-studded cast, including Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, Natalie Lehmann, and Ken Kwapis, who will direct all four episodes. The original series aired for seven seasons on Fox before concluding with its final episode in 2006.

While the revival is exciting news for fans of the show, it also raises questions about how it will address some of the original’s iconic plot points – including a possible Breaking Bad reference to Cranston’s infamous character Walter White. With great range and talent, Cranston has proven himself to be one of the greatest actors in TV history.
