Los Angeles Metro will offer free rides throughout the weekend to celebrate the opening of the airport station on Friday. The free ride period begins at 4 a.m. June 6 and ends at 3 a.m. June 9, allowing users to travel on trains and buses without paying a fare. Additionally, users can hail Metro Micro for free using the mobile app as long as they use it during this time.
The new LAX station will be open from 5 p.m. Friday, providing easy access to the airport for Metro riders. Although the Automated People Mover train connecting the Metro system with airport terminals is expected to finish in 2026, shuttle buses running every 10 minutes will transport travelers between the LAX/Metro Transit Center and airport terminals until then.
To reach the new station, users can take the C or K rail lines directly or use specific bus lines such as 102, 111, 117, 120, 232, among others. Big Blue Bus, Culver CityBus, Torrance Transit, GTrans, and Beach Cities Transit also connect to the station.
