Nintendo has announced that several popular games from its franchises will receive free upgrades on the upcoming Switch 2 console. Unlike the enhanced versions of Zelda games, these updates won’t require players to spend any money. The list includes top Mario titles like Super Mario Odyssey and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, as well as Pokémon games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
Other notable titles getting an upgrade include Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker, Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, and The Legend of Zelda series. Enhancements vary across titles, with some receiving visual upgrades, while others gain multiplayer features like GameShare functionality. All free updates will be available on the Switch 2 launch date of June 5, requiring players to install a system update first.
